 William Hartwright (1787- 1854) 

 William III  of Manchester second wife was Elizabeth Giles whom he married in 1835. They had four children. Only one of their son’s, Edward Romilly Hartwright (1841- 1895) had children. Edward married Mary Ghest in 1868 and they had four children. Their son Harold (b.1875) died when he was only 34 and his son Frank was sent as a “Home Child” to Canada in 1910. He may be the Frank Hartwright who married Lorinda Vardon from Gaspe, Quebec in 1947. If you have any information please get in touch.

Edward’s son Egbert Alma (1880-1916)  appears on the 1901 UK census living in St George’s, Hanover Square London.  Occupation barman.  Egbert married twice his first wife Alice Daniels, died childless at the age of 31. He then married Mary McVicker in 1911 with whom he emigrated to South Africa. A son Alma Edward was born there in 1914, and on her husband's death in 1916 Mary returned to the UK with her young son Alma.
